Castello Bolognini in Sant'Angelo Lodigiano (www.castellobolognini.it) will be the exclusive location for the Gala Dinner. A bus transfer will be organised for all participants from the Conference Venue to the Castle.
The large castle was rebuilt over a previous fortress by the Visconti Family in the XIV century. It was intended to protect the south-east edge of Milan's defense line. In 1452, it was donated by Francesco Sforza, ruler of Milan after the Viscontis, to the Bolognini family who owned it for centuries and for this reason is also named Castello Bolognini. In 1933 the Duchess Lydia Caprara Morando Bolognini, widow of the Duke Gian Giacomo Morando Bolognini, established a Foundation, Fondazione Morando Bolognini, to the aim of research on agriculture and turned the Castle into Museum.
Today, part of the castle hosts the National Institute for Genetics and Agriculture of Grains and two museums related to History of Agriculture and of Bread.
The local Association of Italian bakers "Associazione Territoriale del Basso Lodigiano - CONFCOMMERCIO" will be present at the Gala Dinner with an exhibition of typical Italian bread.
Bread during dinner will be kindly offered by the Italian Bakery "Molino Fusé" within the framework of the Healthbread project.
If you registered for the Gala Dinner or Gala Dinner is included in your Registration fee, you will get a dinner voucher at the registration desk upon arrival.
Remember, it is mandatory to show this voucher at the Castello in order to get admittance to the Gala Dinner rooms.
A bus transfer from the Conference venue to the Castle has been arranged by AISTEC. The pick-up point will be "Via Larga, Milano", very close to the Conference venue. Details will be given during the Conference.
