The Italian Association for Cereal Science and Technology (AISTEC) and the International Association for Cereal Science and Technology (ICC) on the occasion of the EXPO 2015 in Milan, Italy, a major global event, have joined forces to co-organise an international conference on a very important topic "Grains for feeding the world" to reflect on the EXPO 2015 theme which is "Feeding the planet, energy for life" within the boundaries of the grains field in a global perspective.
Grains such as cereals and pseudocereals are at the base of the human diet and an economic asset worldwide. The aim of this conference is to address major global challenges such as limited agricultural land and resource scarcity, infrastructures and biodiversity, pressures of a changing climate, innovation in production and technology, health and nutrition and consumers needs to help shaping the future of grains.
The conference aims at attracting a diversified audience made up of researchers and academia, industry representatives, legislators and stakeholders in general. The Scientific Committees, made up by well-known scientists worldwide, will shape up a rich and interesting program and the conference will be a wide and interesting forum touching on all cereals, pseudocereals and other grains. A table top exhibition and a poster session will complement oral presentations. Awards will be given to the best posters to encourage young researchers' participation.
Don't forget that this conference will also be a unique opportunity to visit the fantastic EXPO grounds where, within the pavilions of more than 150 participating countries, more than 7,000 events including shows, conferences and meetings, are planned during the EXPO opening period May - October 2015.
We look forward to welcoming you in Milan, 1-3 July 2015!
